Wahweap area is still producing stripers!
Fished over the weekend and found stripers at the dam (just a few), up Antelope Canyon (about 50 fish) and at Buoy 3 (south wall) about 35 fish.
The Antelope stripers were plentiful, but found that half were juveniles and of the adults about 75% were emaciated. For their length you'd expect about a 4 lb fish, but they looked awful, with concave backs.
The Friday winds were brutal and we didn't do well. Saturday was great and a few hours Sunday allowed us to add about a dozen before heading home.
Best quality fish and bite was at buoy 3, but that was almost impossible place to hold with the wakes and wind.
Saturday afternoon it was a sight to behold at the fish cleaning station. Had to wait in line as 8 stations were cleaning multi hundreds of stripers, with huge coolers coming in full.
