Hi all I just joined up so I'm looking forward to chatting with you all.

But without further ado I have been fishing since I was a little kid but I was never realy serious about until just recently. The problem is I'm absolutely terrible, me and my dad go out and he'll catch around 3 fish and I won't even get a nibble.

As for a lure I'm using just a little twister tail with a hook with like a sinker type thing on it. (Sorry for lack of jargon). The pond I fish at mostly has Rock Bass with some small mouths and a few large mouths. They all range from 5-14 inches. Please give me some tips as to where these fish like to hide in the water, what types of lures to use, etc. just anything helpful please.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Sounds like your using a grub with a splitshot on the nose. Try different retrieves. Slow, Medium, Fast. Let the grub hit bottom then reel in a few feet, then let it fall back down. Sometimes how you present the bait has a lot to do with catching.

use the same curlie on a single hook harness for large mouth, cast around and near weed beds and other structures. for small mouth cast on sandy bottoms near drop offs and away from weed beds.

lmb all depts from top to bottom, smb mostly near the bottom
