Just spent a week at Powell fishing and houseboating, starting April 30.

Camped in Iceberg the first part of the week. Not fast fishing, but caught smallmouth, largemouth, Crappie, and Bluegill.

Returned to Bullfrog a few days early to see if fishing any better.

Fishing was great around the Bullfrog area to Halls Creek bay area. We caught more largemouth than I can remember in 20 years of fishing Powell, and they were all good size fish from 15 to 19 inches, no lunkers, but nice fighting size.

The Crappie were a little hard to find, but were rewarding to catch when we did. Largest were 14.5 inches. So the Bullfrog area was the best fishing for us.

Tight lines!

Just came back my self from a weekend out there. Got into a lot of smalls!!! Saw two of the biggest smalls I've ever seen....but I guess maybe I haven't seen that many so that may mean nothing. First time there and it was beautiful!!!!!

I also spent last weekend at BF. Found the fishing to steady but not fast. Caught some nice bass both kinds. We found some crappie in Forgotten. No huge fish, just a great time.

We didn't target stripers, but caught a few in Iceberg and Bullfrog area fishing for sm and lg mouth. They were kind of thin like they are having trouble finding enough food.

Yes, to you and Big Bad, Powell is great even when fishing isn't great. It was nice to have some good fishing along with the great scenery.

[indent]nice fish, did you have to fish around the TBF guys while you were there. I just caught the tail end of it. They were all pretty friendly. I understand there was a film crew filming the TBF tourney last week. Never saw them myself but that was the scuttlebut.

When we were in iceberg there were a lot of bass boats with two guys that looked like possible tourney anglers. They looked like they were pre-fishing, scouting. They never bothered us and we just waved at them.

Around Bullfrog when the tourney was on (I could see the weigh-in set up near where our houseboat slip is located) we never had a problem with them. We found a good pattern and locations, and actually a lot of them were fishing locations that we had tried and not gotten bites.

They never actually fished the places we found fish! While we were moving in and out of them.
