I am watching this program on Bass fishing and striper. Okay, the captain of this boat has a pool stick. He bounces the pool cue butt on the floor of the boat kind of like a heart beat rhythm. On the sonar, you can see the schools of fish come to the sound...anybody ever try this? I have always tried to stay quiet, but does this really work?[crazy]

A few years ago while ice fishing early ice on Scofield we noticed that when we would pound the ice with the spud bar that often we would immediately get bites.

When we are ice fishing and the bite is slow, there have been severel times we will start up the snowmobiles on the ice. We will just let them idle for a good 10 mins. The fish almost always come into the area, usually pretty agressively too!!!

Some catfishermen use ice cream scoop looking things to cup the water repeatedly, which makes a noise that the cats on the bottom will rise up to investigate.
I'm bringing my African trial drum with me more often, this year.[cool]

Yea, no kidding! I am thinking a drum stick and tapping a pontoon...be worth a try...right?

Some "native" guides I fished with in Canada used to slap the water with an oar to "wake up" pike. Bass and pike are pretty gullible, and will come to any sound or vibration, and hit almost anything that moves.
Black bass and stripers are two of the most easy to catch fish on the planet imo. Sounds, rattles, and vibrations are all "attractants" in many cases.

I have watched some of our Southeast Asian fisherman throw small pebbles into the water by their line !! It seems to work at times. I have not tried the technique my self.
When I was very young kid my grandmother would throw out her bait and then throw rocks in the water near where she casted it, use to piss my grandpa off because she was making all this noise, well she always caught fish when we where sitting there holding are pole twenty feet down the shore?
I was wiper fishing one day on Willard and I was listening to AC\DC thunderstruck or for those about to rock? and all of a sudden the fish started biting? They also like lynyrd skynyrd.

Never put two and two together? will now!

If this catches on, I'm going to bring my camcorder with me to Willard.
With all the boats fishing inside the Marina, it could be quite interesting to film the action with all the oars thumping the bottom of the boats.
Might win me the snapshot of the day award!

The fish respond to a particular song on my boat. Problem is I get tired of it! It has a pretty good beat like your ac/dc songs.

Ok - so set me straight here - so ALL this Time I've been chastising my boy for being a constant noise generator, I should be praising him, and suggest he keep to a beat??!
maybe I can capitalize on his inner-youth?!
Maybe I'll try it next time. See if it brings IN the musky and big-bass?!?!
Ever heard of GRUNTING for worms?
I stand testament - it works!
