Well I wish I could say today was amazing but it wasn't. All I can say is the weather was great. I met a couple of guys that were real nice guys and I think one named Joe is thinking about joining our group of internet anglers here.
I started the day with a water temp of 68 degrees. By late afternoon is got to 70.9 at the highest point. Fishing was slow and took me forever to land my first fish. I hit the narrows for a couple hours with NO luck. I finally found the spot and that is where I met Joe and his buddy. The Crappie seemed to only be in spots. Not all over the place. In those good places it was slow. Everywhere else stunk. I hope this is just the start of good things to come. Ron

Thanks for the report. You would think strike would start producing soon!

Some nice looking crappies! I hope there are lots there -- somewhere-- as we plan on going out that way a few days later on.

Idahoron,

I was there also. I got spooked out today by the breeze so can share my photo with you. I really got a mixed bag and didn't realize to what degree until I lined up the fish for the photo. I knew about the huge bluegill of course but didn't have any idea about the white crappie. Go figure...

Way to go on the mixed bag. Yep that is a white crappie. I haven't caught one yet. I have been lucky enough to catch a few of those big gills. Were you in a boat? I was in my green pontoon. Ron

Yes, old ugly gray one (I'm talking about the boat here) with white 90 hp Johnson outboard and foot pedal electric on the front. I don't recall seeing you but look forward to next time. I came in front Cottonwood but that did not look like a good choice for today....
