I know some guys that have been doing good on FishWithGary Copper and Gold dodger and spinners. You can google the name to see his products and the Kokanee University.

Was out on to Lucky Peak Wensday and the Friday before. On the Friday I caught three and lost seven. Wensday I lost 14. Hit all of them on spinners.

I frequent the Idaho Kokanee forum, and even the hard-core regulars are struggling at LP lately. It will get better as the season progressed and the kokanee begin staging in the regular areas. I wouldn't begin experimenting with lures and attractors other than the standbys; rather, experiment with location. Mike

ok then..but heres the thing...we were marking fishing quite a bit and just rolling over them...Thursday we trolled at 2.1 mph....yesterday we slowed to one....I was using ford fender and wedding ring w/ shoe peg corn most of the day changing colors occasionally...the one fish I got was actually on a jointed Rapala on a leader trailing the fender...wierd. I wasnt using any scent attraction though as I have yet to get any...but its hella frustrating to see fish all day long and not get bit...ugh The ones we've gotten were all around 16" to 17" though...good sign they'll be huge by July end

2.1 is pretty high speed for kokanee fishing. Most guys are running their spinners at 1.5 to 1.7.

how important is using scent attractant? They have pro cure aat sportsmans warehouse...

The guys that guide and fish tourneys for Kokes swear by scent. Most of these guys will carry shoepeg corn scented with 4 different types of scent. Popular common scents are Vanilla, Garlic, Shrimp / Anise and the Procure scents.

Here's another possibility for scent: Pautzke's Nectar. I use it exclusively with the shoepeg because it not only scents the corn but also dyes it a nice pink.....and we all know how kokes like pink!! Turner's in Boise carries it. I also tried the Pautzke Kokanee product, but thought it underproduced the Nectar. Also, the Nectar is nice to work with, but the Kokanee is nasty. Also, believe MMDon when he suggests 1.5--1.7. (In fact, believe him about most things!!) That is exactly where I take my boat, and it is also where the pros suggest. Mike

I use Kokanee Killer Korn Dye from Procure to dye all my corn pink. Pink corn rocks Kokes!

yesterday was tough at lp. we only ended up with 3 in the boat. all nice fish around 16". last weekend was a lot better hook rate for us, but we lost a bunch. that wind yesterday morning was a pain in the a$$. talked to a bunch of boats and noone was killing them. it's still a bit early. things will only get better.
