I hit Starvation Sunday and Monday this week. Fished pretty hard from 9 to 8 on Sunday and 6 to 2 on Monday. Only ended up with one walleye to show for it although it was a nice one at 19.5 inches. Slimers were out in full force though and in great shape. I caught several that were 18 to 19 inches and 3 pounds with fantastic red meat. I think if a guy pulled cranks you could load the boat with them right now, I was trying to avoid them and still ended up catching 6 to 10 each day. I just could not find the walleye or the perch. I ended up with only one jumbo perch for the trip as well. Now to the details:

Mud line extends down to Rabbit, with stained water throughout Rabbit and above the bridge is very chocolate with lots of debris coming down. Water temps above the bridge are 52 with 53’ish in Rabbit and 55 – 56 in Saluratus. Air temps were in the 40’s with lots of wind! Did I say wind at Starvation? There is no water coming into Knights inlet and the water from the launch ramp north is clear. I fished 8 foot to 40 foot and did not find any concentration of fish. The one walleye I caught was in 34 feet of water in Saluratus and caught bottom bouncing. I’ll be headed back in 2 weeks and hopefully the water temps will be up a bit by then. Post spawn, water temps in the low 50’s and cold front conditions will be my excuse this time. It was good to get out though…

You must have got your boat back Todd thats great [cool] When you get tired of messing around down in Utah, you know where the walleyes are at [Wink]
Spent a couple of hours at the lake on Monday trying to snag my rod I lost last week. No luck. If I would have had any help from Deb It would have helped.
While I was dragging treble hooks on the bottom she had a lindy and a minnow out and wacked a 21, 22 and 24 inch eye [crazy]
You have an open invite my friend. Come up and lets do some fishing.

I'll be there buddy, as soon as you're done with the tournament schedule this year. Still looking for that 10 pounder to put on my wall. How's everything working in the boat for you? I only had a couple minor issues, the biggest being the stereo still needing replaced, which is pretty minor considering...[pirate]

Hey Todd glad you got out. I tried to get out there last week but the found out the hard way, that the saturated mud in Saleratus is just about as bad as I have ever experienced in my truck. I could hardly stay on the road. Let alone camp and launch a couple toons or a drift boat. That ruined my plans to fish Starvation and catch shore lunch and dinner. We still went out and caught some trout but were still limited to certain waters due to the nasty muck that was at its worst almost everywhere we went. Thank god for Six Lakes, hot links, and Tri-tip. You know I am going to have to go out there for work on June first but am planning on taking that whole week before the first to fish and camp at Starvation since the lady will be out of town I get a do what ever the hell I want pass. Guess whatever the hell I want to do involves whacking walleyes. Hope to see ya out there. Call me if ya want to plan on meeting up. I will most likely be rolling solo.

So the road to Knight Hollow is impassable until the sun starts shining and drying things out eh? Good to know, thanks!

No, its passable. When I got there last Monday it had been raining for a few days prior. It was raining when I got there and it hailed the next day. Over saturation. I made it on the dirt roads that lead to the hill that takes you down to the inlet and pay station. I didn't even attempt to go down by the camp sites because I know that if the heavy traveled road that is used daily is in the shape it was that I might not make it out of there by myself. Going back up the hill was kinda scary. The slick mud forced you in the ruts, but the ruts were so slick that you were going sideways if your were not right on top of things. Quite the rodeo..lol I will soon have my days..... oh yes, I will get them back...all of them...[sly]

I'll be camped on top, taking my slide in camper instead of the 5th wheel, I will have some JD in camp. Haven't seen ya since one of those cold mornings on the hard deck at Starvation back in Feb.[fishin]
