Well I did a drive bye today of the lake on my way to Billings. The ice isn't giving up its hold on the lake. The Madison is clear and fishable down to Lyons bridge. After that it is muddy all the way to the Bear trap.

Well after coming back yesterday I checked out Henry's and Hebgen. Well Hebgen is iced off within a mile of Kirkwood. Boat ramps are dry. The bighorn sheep are still down on the road at Sliderock Inn.

I don't think the ice on Henry's will come off anytime soon. Maybe it will be ice fishing for opening day

If the ice was any good . . . I'd be willing to drill a couple of holes! [fishin]

On weather.com , the 10 day forecast is rain for the next 8 days . Rain will melt a lot of snow and ice . 100% tonight and 100% Tomorrow . The ice will be gone . My work schedule got changed and I have to work through the Holiday now but I will be there the next weekend . Curt G.

Drove to Henrys yesterday (Friday) afternoon and saw that there is open water. I thought there may be some ice free water but there was alot of it. The ice looked like it was blown towards the outlet. The ice line was from the west end of the cliffs across to about Targhee creek. Everything east had ice but it looked like it had alot of spots where water was on the ice. The wind was blowing about 15 to 20 mph and there were white caps.

It won't take long for the wind to rip it open!
