Took a little drive up to the Preston are lakes with my son on Saturday. It was a great day to be out on the pond. The bass are finally starting to act alive up here with the warmer weather the last week or so. We caught a dozen or so in a couple hours. Used seven inch power worm in pumkinseed pitched into cover. There is plenty of cover here as the water level is high with plenty of flooded brush and trees. All fish were released for another day. Here are a few pics, all we caught were generally this size. Nice fish.

I've never fished Preston, but live just south of the area. Where can I go to wet my lines there?

That depends on what you want to fish for. there are many great small reservoirs within 30 miles of Preston. Send me a PM and let me know what your looking for.

Great pics and report. If you want to keep your honey hole a secret you may want to edit your picture names[Wink]

I have no secrets. This fishery is managed as a trophy lake. I really don't mind sharing.

lol - that's priceless. But - dude, how do you know it's not just the name of their boat? At least they aren't catching bass off some ocean surf! [mad]

Thanks for the report CV. If it'd stop raining I'd say it's time for spring bassin! At least the rain will knock enough worms in they'll be hitting anything that falls, right?

Pharticus - you taking a road-trip? I have some buds that fish Idaho more than Utah, even though they are Utahns... must be the corn!
Condi is a nice lake and has some fairly good sized bass, but very few ever get over the 20" that it takes to be harvested. Most die of old age at less than 20 inches. They grow pretty dang slow in this cold north land!

It is a come and play lake, because you can't take them home anyway. So come up and play. I love seeing what all the out of state dollars do for our fishing programs!!!! [Tongue] [laugh][laugh][laugh]

The bass don't care if its raining or if the suns out, I say keep raining it keeps all you fair weather fisherman indoors.

Not anytime soon. This weather is destroying any hopes of getting caught up with work enough to go fishing in the near future... [frown]

yup.

its cool if you dont mind sharing and good on ya for doing so, how ever, next time your up there and you are shoulder to shoulder with people you might know why.

i myself have been fishing up around(ish) that area for the better part of the last 5 days and have been doing awesome. no reason to report how ever because i would hate to see 248736128754182591629348877235687564 other people show up to the few smaller lakes im at. which is why i share info via PM's, and post very vague reports.

nice to see some fish finally comming out of the other little lakes around there. i saw twin and glendale today and its the highest i have ever seen them since i was a small kid.

+1

I've fished it for twenty years and have caught exactly one over 20." Maybe I just don't know what i'm doing. I'm going with the they grow slow story.

I did get a bluegill two ounces from the state record about 15 years ago. They have not come back since the great drain a few years ago.

Ocean surf or not at least there catching bass, and FYI they've been eating everything you throw at them for weeks. Worms and corn, way to spill the beans on the most closely guarded bass secrete ever devised. Bass beware!

I really am not worried about people going to fish Condi, I don't own the lake, neither does anyone else with a comment about it here. This is a resource just like any other for all to enjoy. Man - I been reading these boards for years now, with only a hand full of posts. I thought I would share as others have shared with me on here. Guess I'll slip back into the background now and just observe.

@CVfisher I appreciate your willingness to share as I'm sure others do as well. If anyone has a secret spot that's their business but sniping at others for sharing is just bad form. I fish with my kids and having a chance to be "on" the fish means more quality time with them doing what we like. Thanks again to the generous people on this board.

I agree with kochanut, nothings worse than having a good spot and someone blowing the lid off it. If you did well somewhere and feel inclined to post it, so be it but you'll have to take the critisizm as well as the praise. That's just the way it is.
