Anyone got any places to suggest on the Idaho side of Bear Lake to fish this time of year?
Would be from shore or in a kayak.

You can fish the entire lake with either an Idaho or UT license so....I would head down to the Utah Marina. It drops off pretty fast there. Early and late in the yr you can catch fish from the bank or no too far out in your kayak. Jig/bait/trolling deep.-good luck

If the weather will clear im heading over there tonight to the marina. hopefuly we will have some luck. i havnt heard to many good reports recently, other than the water is rising quick.

Thanks for the info. Did the rule change this year? If the one tag for fishing either Utah/Idaho parts of the lake was in place before then I read it wrong for sure. Maybe I just had it stuck in my head you had to have different tags. Hadn't even bothered to look it up in the new book until now. Thanks.
Hopefully the weather breaks a bit. I was thinking it may be the one of the most "stable" bodies of water around right now and would give it a shot. Never fished there

My landlord just went to bear lake and knocked them dead!!! he caught a 17lbs cutthroat and 6 or 7 10 lbs plus mack's all on the Idaho side!!! he has allot of the world line weight records in freshwater fishing hall of fame record book!!! which if you haven't scene this book yet i highly recommend it!! its really cool to look at!!

I did end up going. didnt do well. i took my 3 year old and ended up helping her more than fishing for myself. but we had a great time. the lake looked like it had come up a good 2 ft or more. I talked to another fisherman who said that there is so much water coming in that the weir on the north end is begining to wash out! I believe that bear lake has also been a joint license. meaning you can fish the entire lake with either license. i think that utah tries to do this with boardering lakes. Im not sure but i think flaming gorge might be the same way? Dont quote me on that.

We caught one that was 31 inches 2 years ago that we released. That i have always wondered the weight of.
