Myself and a a few friends hit Newton today for six hours and got our asses handed to us. We threw everything at the muskies, and nothing...... two follows was it. The DNR was there checking licenses, and he told us that he hadn't talked to anyone who had caught fish, so it wasn't just us. Apparently the musky switch was firmly in the off position [mad] Fred K.

Well dang - I was gonna head up there this afternoon. Hmm - maybe wait for a bit more warming?!?!
Thanks for the report Fred.
Did you try for any bass or panfish?
Or - what pitching cranks for the TMs exclusively?
Shore - afloat? You must have got an early start.
Were the Powersquad out in force? Maybe the DNR can hand out some tickets for running over anglers!
It might be decent out there this afternoon, but this morning was rough. A few more days or warming water temps will go a long way towards getting them active. The water temp was 55 when we arrived in the AM, and 57 by the we left at 11 AM. One of my buddies tried for bass and perch for awhile, but got nothing. No sign of the power squadron, but lots of other fisherman in boats and from shore. We were in a boat and covered the lake from top to bottom.... shallow, deep, inshore, offshore.... nothing. Good luck if you go. Fred K.
