Hit DC with the new tube this morning. Got there at 6am and there was already a tooner launching. Hurried and got my tube out and launched away. Set up a drop shot on one rig and slip sinker on the other. Ten minutes on the lake and I had my first fish on the drop shot. The next five cast brought in another bass each time. Then it slowed to one every ten minutes or so. It was a blast. Some big mommas getting ready to release their eggs. About 30 minutes after I launched another tuber showed up and launched. He quickly floated away to his spot. I spent some time in the honey hole before I decided to take a trip around the island and see what was happening. I stayed at about a 20-24 ft depth and saw fish going straight to the bottom as I floated over them. They were everywhere but just weren't biting. By the time I got back around to the other side of the island both the tooner and other tuber had packed up and left. I spent some more time catching bass in the same spot I had that morning and decided it was time to go before the wind picked up. I had a great time playing catch and release and can't wait to go again.
