Well, decided to go somewhere out of the norm today. Went down to McTucker Ponds. Unfortunately, the access road to the ponds is closed - flooded. I saw the proximity to the river before making the trip, but you never know unless you check it out or hear about it, so now you've heard about it.

Ended up at Crystal Springs Pond, and didn't catch a single thing or get as much as a nibble.

Yeah, all the ponds have turned into a single lake, so all the fish have been mixed together again. There is also a big sink hole in the road, which is another reason why it is closed. My cousin's In-laws live on the road to McTucker. I'll keep an ear out for when it is open again because I really enjoy fishing there.

i watched a truck try going through after waving him down not to. ha. lesson learned i think. big boulder there now. if u take the rd to boat launch, that first colvert bridge u pass u can catch suckers and chubs all day. werent trout but that didnt matter to the kids. they loved trying to real in the 2o plus inch suckers

It is a mess down there. I spent most of the day down there driving around taking pictures and then did a little bow fishing for carp. For the first time, I guess I did ok. You can get to the boat dock, but the water will be bumper high. The road into McTuckers is blocked by a rock. There is a wash out just past the rock as some people have found out.
