Not much to report but after reading another post and how it was good to see conditions where they went I thought I would post. Went over on Sunday afternoon. It was windy and I didn't fish much. More of an outing than a fishing trip. So much so that won't even consider I was skunked (plenty of time for that later). A few people were there on a pontoon boat and people here and there. Went in on the Wayan side and didn't go very far past Buck Island so not to much to report. Meadow Creek flowing in was a raging river and cool to watch where it comes in. The reservoir was definatley up pretty high. Water was off color but not to bad and definately nothing to prohibit fishing.
For whatever it is worh, and this is only one small area to sample I did not see a single pelican. I am sure they are over in their usual haunts. By no means do I want to make this sound as if there isn't an issue with them and am hesitant to post this because of that but found it interesting enough I am throwing it in. I have seen them and their population estimates, and have seen the reports. Any fool can see the impact they have caused. Enough said there. Must have been hunkered down because oif the wind and tending their nests, or on the main lake strongholds. I did think I was on the coast somewhere with all of the sea gulls tho.
Very green and pretty over that way right now.
I am going to try and get back over within the next week and fish and check out more of the reservoir and will post when I do.
