Put in at Skull at 6am, and fished till 4:15. Tried a deep drop first, caught 12 keepers using
1/16 oz jigs on a 12 count. Fished a deep dock catching 7 keepers, action was slow. I went back
and fished the new docks found in last post, catching crappie on most. I spent some time looking for
new places. I found 2 great ones, and 2 good ones. 10 ft of water, loaded with crappie. I was pounding
fish so bad I stopped and put on an BG Electric Chicken to see how hungry they were. They killed it,
but they hit cajun cricket, and scent wigglers too. When action slowed, I would reposition the boat
and catch more. Remote location, no boats in the same area code,PERFECT! I had around 80 keepers
on the clicker when I left . I went back to old places, catching crappie there too. Around 3:00, I
could feel the heat ramping up. Sweat would run in my eyes just standing still. The last 5 crappie
to reach 100 seemed to take forever. I went back to one of the new docks and caught the 100th
crappie at 3:56pm. The 1/32 oz. jig with Ghastly Minnow and Outlaw Special dominated, but at times
it didn't matter. Finished with 103 keeper crappie, all released.
