Has anyone heard any reports of salmon fishing on the Little Salmon river? Have the salmon made it that far?

Hopefully I wont hurt peoples feelings but the lower salmon section is going to be a bust this year. I like a little high water but there is so much snow still high that nice warm days with a little rain are going to make the river high for awhile. Its a bummer that I only caught a few but the upper salmon might get more liberal seasons along with poor fishing in the lower section (we can only hope)! Hopefully the fish gods will give us one more chance on the lower section before its blown out for awhile. I have a bunch of private on the little salmon I can fish but I heard its blown out as well.

Went yesterday. Four of us limited out on Jacks in an hour. Biggest fish was 8 lbs. Saw some bigger fish caught. Water is high, but if you can find a good drift you'll catch'em.

Just got back i fished monday afternoon and this afternoon monday hooked up on a nice adult male got it landed then proceeded in hooking up two more times but the fish came off just as fast as they hooked up. missed a few hits also that day. stopped and fished it again this afternoon ( while my wife protested the idea.) after talking to quite a few people everybody said that nobody but the people down by the mill were touching any fish for the last 2 days. well we went in to town and had lunch went back to the river fished for 10 minutes and hooked up with a nice hen and got her landed even though she made a nasty dash about 50 yards down stream got her back up to where i could land her with some seriouse pumping and fast reeling. got her landed. then a few cast later i caught a STEELHEAD! WTF? lol second one i have caught while salmon fishing the last 2 years. missed one more bite after then hung up broke off and headed home as i was already pushing the old ladies buttons. both fish were in the 13 to 14 lb range.

The old saw mill is the place to fish if you can get in there before anyone else or have patience and wait for someone to leave. We were going to fish that spot on Tuesday, but 20+ fisherman were alread there standing on the flat waiting in line to fish the point. We watched for about an hour as two groups of four each limited out. All small fish.

The fishing on the south fork should be red hot mid July.

Fishing has tapered off once again......... High water has really been making this a tough season. There's spurts of fish coming through here and there but I still haven't seen any really big pushes of fish yet this year. Clearwater on the other hand has been fairly consistent.
