Well my wife has really hurt her leg and I want to take her somewhere nearby so me and the kids can fish and she can at least watch in comfort somewhat. Is this a good place to take my kids for fun or is it a waste of time? I want my kids to be able to snag some fish just so they can see how it is.

Floyd Lamb is good most to the time. NDOW stocked the big lake (Tule Springs Lake) with catfish last Tuesday.

There is a picnic table on the east side of the big lake with shade and a good place to catch bluegill. Use a piece of nightcrawler or mealworm on a #8 aberdeen hook under a small bobber for the kids. The bluegill usually hold under the shade and close to shore. The bigger 'gills will be out in the deepest part holding on the bottom of the lake.

If you want just bluebill, go to the bottom lake (Mullberry). There are several shaded picnic tables around this small lake for your wife to sit close by as the kids fish.

To catch catfish, fish a bottom slip rig with nightcrawlers, hotdogs or shrimp. The stocked cat's usually range in the 1-3lb range and are only in the big lake.

Good luck and tight lines.

Thanks for the info on the lakes. All I can do from here is guess and research online, I'm still deployed but looking for good places to go. I can't wait to get home and throw some hooks.
