A little late, we fished saturday. Went up to shoot carp and troll 2nd. Got on about 10 am and went across to the shallow areas on next to the fields down by the dam and there wasn't hardly any carp moved up yet. Trolled for over an hour and nothing on pop gear. So we went exploring , ran up to where the river drops in and it had a few pelicans on it. Trolled for a bit up that way for an hour.... nothing still. Ran back down and checked for carp. Started to see a few in 2-6 feet of water along the willows on the west side. Lots of shots but was having a tough go of it. Deep water and bad glare was made it a rough shoot. So we figured we would troll back. First fish I hooked up with was this guy...

made a 2nd pass down by the dam and yanked this little guy out

We ended up boating 3 more decent rainbows a little smaller than those 2. We are going to need some warmer temps for the carp to move up in the grass Im guessing.

On a side note, the rainbows out of there are some of the best tasting trout I have ever eaten.

Was there anybody doing any shore fishing near poison creek? And if so were they catching any that you saw? I was thinking of taking my daughter up there but wasn't sure if drowning a worm from the bank is effective this time of year up there.

there were a few farther up from the boat ramp, didn't talk to any of them though to see how they did.
