Utah's Premier River Fishing Competition

Attention Utah Anglers:
There is a new river fishing competition in the state of Utah called the BIG FISH CHALLENGE. The BIG FISH CHALLENGE is a catch-and-release fishing competition to see which individual angler can catch the biggest trout in length. This competition is open to all artificial lure fishermen (Fly and Spin) and is an individual competition not team. It is the only river fishing competition in the state of Utah that is open to both a spin and fly fisherman.
This fishing competition will be held on three of Utah's most premiere fishing rivers: Provo, Green, and Weber River.

Provo (Lower) River: July 16 (Sat), 2011
Green (Sec a-b) River: August 13 (Sat), 2011
Weber (Middle) River: August 27 (Sat), 2011

Each river will be a separate competition along with an overall Grand Prize.

LOL... its not all that bad its all fishing fly or spin Im sure we can all get along. I have to say we fly fishermen will put the hurt on the spin guys ...[] juuust kidding
I double fist it all the time no point in limiting your self.

And really with the run off in full effect on the Weber & Green
I think spin guys would have a little bit of an advantage throwing there heavy lures.

I'm excited to get the two fishing together. We all love the same sport of catching fish on a river so why not allow both to be in a competiton together. I'm really looking forward to the results of the competition to see just how different we are.

We are just 3 weeks away from starting our first event on the Provo River. Our base camp location is at Nunns Park Pavilion 1. Nunns Park is one park down the canyon from Bridal Viel falls.

I fished the Provo river this morning and caught a really nice 18.5" Rainbow (it was the first catch of the day). I have attached a picture of the catch. I'm really looking forward to seeing the fish that will be caught from the competition and who will be crowned the Big Fish Challenge Champion on each river. After each river event I will update the website to show all of the final standings from first to last. The 1st and 2nd place winners will have their pictures displayed.
