Sorry this took so long to put up. First chance I've had to post. Strike has been very tough to figure out this year for crappie at least. Seems like they're either on or off. I got there around 6 PM and fished for an hour at the turbines. Got one trout about 14" before moving to Cottonwood.
Could not get a bite to save my life until it was almost dark. Then they just switched on. I was getting hits on every cast. Probably 14 out of 15 would be dinks, but that 15th fish would be a nice one. It stayed that way pretty much all night. About 8 AM the dinks quit biting, but the nice ones kept going at about the same rate. You would only get about two fish an hour, but they would be 12"+. It died completely around 3 PM, though. I didn't keep anything less than 11", and I came home with over 30 crappies at the end of the day Monday. Most were in the 12" to 13" range.
And yes, I fished for about 24 hours straight. Here is a pic of some of the nicer ones, along with a pic of a huge largemouth this guy's wife caught on a crappie jig Sunday night.
