I lost my 7' Shimano Rod with a Mitchell 300 reel trolling around the point at the South side of Rainbow Bay Sat. morning. I don't know how it happened but a fish struck my gold flatfish and the next thing I knew the rod was out of my hand and into the water. I would really like to get it back and I am just hoping somebody snags the line and brings it up. PM me if you find it. I like it so much I will pay a reward.

Thanks for your help!

It was my first hookup of the day and I was excited to have something on. Maybe too excited, eh?

I hope you get it back.

I had a simular ordeal during a Dec. FG Mack fishing trip.
I got tapped so I put the big swing on the rod. Next thing I knew the rod went sky high from my froozen fingers then landed on Fuzzy head. That allowed the rod to drop in the boat rather than the water.. I missed the hook up too.

Thanks for the best wishes. It was a rod with lifetime replacement for breakage, but alas, I didn't break it and the reel went with it. I had just refurbished the reel at Ollie Damon's in Portland so it was in top condition with 6# blue Stren. We looked and looked for it hoping to see the floating gold flatfish surface and bring the line to us and then the rod.

I go spearfishing there quite a bit. If you give me more specific directions and depth, I could probably find it. I found a nice combo at DC last year and posted it on BFT, but nobody claimed it. Send me a PM, I'm probably going tomorrow

Curious what your largest carp is out of Deer Creek? There always seems to be some huge ones showing on the surface near the dam?

I would say an honest 18-19 lbs. They're much bigger (30lbs+) at Starvation, and Flaming Gorge

I fished DC again Thursday and we tried to go to the point and see if we could snag the line or rod but the wind was terrible and we couldn't control the boat very well. No luck.
I will probably try again this week if the weather is calmer.

Inshanity, do you usually get carp and walleye or do you also see big browns?

I went out on Saturday, and looked for it. I didn't find it, but i'll go out again later this week. I did find some pop gear, two walleye and a rainbow.

Bowcutt, Trout are hard to come by unless the visibility is really good. I usually only see a trout 1 in 5 trips, so its a prize catch. I've never seen a brown..
