Hi all, happy fishing to all.
I'm Louis Martel in Winkler Manitoba.
At 50 yrs old, I have decided to got back to fishing after not fishing for 20 years. Can't wait.
Question, someone wants to sell me a 2 piece rod. Its in a bag and markings are:
Sanger - Spirit-Boat
High Carbon Art no: 5874 180
Lenght 1.80 m
Line 30lb
I have surfed the internet and can\t find anything about this rod.
Does anyone have any insight to this 2 piece rod?
Appreciate your time, Louis

I would say considering you can get a decent rod for around 30 bucks, I wouldn't chance it on a no-name outfit. Just my 2 cents.

what I am seeing is spinning reels. from $15 to $70
your best bet is to let us know what kind of fish you will be targeting.
you may be hard pressed to find some one who has used an off brand name. "dosnt mean it isnt quality equipment" just we dont know who manufactured it. It dose make a differance.
I am with every one else on this, unless you are going to get the set up for $10-$15 I would invest in a trip to perchas something that is well known.
you never know what your going to run in to when it comes to used fishing equipment
It is just the rod, no reel. He only wannted $5.00 but I always try to get educated about the product before purchasing. Thanks for your posts.

for that price, put it together, make sure the eyelets are intact, and there are no fractures, then hand him the bucks and find your self a 20-30 lb class reel and you will be set up for salmon big pike, big cats and walleye.
if it is in good shape it is always worth 5-10 bucks at any garage sale.
For 5 bucks, it's worth a try. If it breaks, oh well, you're just out 5 bucks.

Make sure its not to heavy,I fish up to 6hours on most trips,I like to have them weigh no more than 1pound,and my lightest is only 6ounces!its a 6to 10lb,on a 500 spinning reel, you can find small reels like these if you google icefishing reels.,I found one for only 10bucks.I also have a $50 one cause I like to spoil myself, its a Tica,I can fish all day with that rod,its light as a feather stiff as a board.Wall mart has durango rods for 7or eight bucks.in the 6to 12lb range.
