Managed to get out and hit a stream on Friday. Hiked in a little ways and had pretty good success, caught 17 (Cutts & Browns only) with the full range of sizes represented in the pics. All were caught on prince nymphs and hares ears.
Just nice to be out on moving water that I could see (at least part way) through. Hopefully this is the just the beginning...
As a side note I stopped at Lower Fish Creek on the way back home (much to the wife's [mad] ) but only caught chubbs. About one per cast which was just

, it used to be such a great river.

Glad to see someone else is finding some good stream fishing with all this high water. I was wondering if I saw you yesterday on that stream we bushwhacked last year. I was scrambling up a couple hundred feet of a dirt hill with the dog. Stopped and looked and there a couple hundred yards away down on the other side of the stream was someone fishing. I waved and went on. As I walked heading downstream I started to wonder if that was you because it was a young guy in shorts wet wading. You're the only person I've otherwise seen wet wade that stream. As I'm sure you can attest that stream doesn't warm up even in the heat of summer. I got into a killer stonefly hatch. I'm thinking you fished a smaller stream about 15 miles south. If so I bet the stone and salmon fly hatches are probable over.

I was on that stream (the one we bush wacked) friday and again monday but I've been wearing waders lately (yeah, it's freakin cold!!). I thought about giving you a shout about monday but didn't know I was going for sure till the last minute (also I've hurt my knee so I don't think I'd be able to keep up, not that I ever did but now it might be worse[

]) Stone flies were there on friday, but there weren't nearly as many yesterday. Still good fishing though with a good caddis hatch (although very little dry action). I put an egg pattern on later and had some good action but took it back off after foul hooking a couple cutts...
