Hey all, I just moved up here last month to go to graduate school at BSU. I am debating buying a season license, and was wondering what the fly fishing (heck any fishing really) was like around Boise. What is there an hours drive any direction? I like all kinds of fishing, but being a poor college student, I won't have a boat, just waders, and fly and spinning rods. Is it worth it?[crazy] I know I have heard that a season license will cost about $100[frown] If the fishing is really great though, I may splurge!

There are a ton of great places to fish in that area. The river right behind the college and all through town is great!

Oh wow great blog! I actually do have class right by the river so maybe I should bring my fly rod. I will be going to Henry's fork in August so maybe I'll watch your blog to see what works[cool]

Agreed. Even if you can't get out anywhere else, Boise River is pretty good for its convenience. I didn't start fly fishing until recently, several years after I graduated BSU, and I regularly kick myself for all the fishing opportunities I missed. I've actually made the drive from Nampa to Boise to fish that area a few times.
