I went out exploring around and headed up the Lower Blackfoot River. The river is still high and off color, but is partially fishable on some of the edges.

Some nice Sego Lillies are out also.

I found some small cutthroats that would come out to play in some of the minor tributaries. Most of the side streams are also a bit off color, but fishable.

A few brookies also.

I would tell you where I was at if I knew!! All the tributaries look the same and there are no signs up there on any of them.

In driving back I crossed over the Blackfoot

and took the road to the back of Chesterfield. The roads weren't bad except between Poleline Rd and the reservation boundary by Chesterfield. Chesterfield is really nice and full.

I looked at the Portneuf, but didn't fish it. The upper part is high, but not too bad. A little lower it gets quite high and muddy as it picks up tributaries.

It looks like there is still a lot of snow that is melting in the Pebble Basin, but I didn't go up that way.

I forgot to mention the deer flies. They are really nasty this year. I spent more time swatting them than fishing. They dang near chewed me down to the bone!
