I gotta take the scouts fishing tomorrow for a couple hours to teach a few kids how to catch a trout (Hopefully). I havent fished the community ponds and I'm wondering if someone can PM me one of them that has been stocked recently or the boys stand a good chance of getting a slimer or two.

I really appreciate the help!

This link is the stocking report off of the DWR's website. Hope this helps.

Ya i saw that. I was hoping the ponds would have been stocked up this week in time for the 4th but its not looking that way. I wish they would give some type of upcoming stocking report. Guess I'll have to flip a coin haha..

Thanks!

Thanks J!

you know me I got cases of the stuff! Maybe i can talk the ol slimers into eating a swimbait? Last time I took my oldest over there he caught 4-5 catfish on Powerbait. I'm convinced the damn things will eat about anything, but not quite as much as a carp. Got one on a LC Gunfish! I thought i had like a 10lb smallie on [crazy]

The stocking posts are not always current. The youth fishing clubs held at the ponds mostly use worms or power bait. Spinners seem to work well too.

Trout stocking stopped in May at most of the ponds.
The water is too warm to stock trout now. Catfish have been stocked and will continue to be stocked about every 2 to 3 weeks.
Don't be surprised if you see the stocking truck show up before the 4th of July.

Ya know. I rarely have success after warm water has been stocked with Trout.

I generally go to Kidney though. Seem to do alright there.
