I live in Springville and am looking for a place close to home for some good fishing. I'm looking more for quantity than for quality.

Anybody know of some good places? I'd love to get in to some white bass. Or a good herd of carp would be great too.

Camelot.

Take 1400 N all the way past the freeway and head north on the dirt road until you find water.

Is that open? I went over there and it had a BIG old road closed sign....

[cool][#0000ff]Closed during the Freeway "Core Project"...and maybe afterward. Have to see how they realign all the roads and access when it is all done.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Next best shot is the mouth of the Spanish Fork River and Sandy Beach. [/#0000ff]
I sure appreciate your wisdom. Can you give me simple directions to those places?

Thanks!

[#0000ff]DIRECTIONS:[#000000] [/#000000][#0000ff]Get there by taking Springville exit 260 off I-15 and follow Hwy 77 west to the Spanish Fork River Bridge. Take the River Dr. turnoff just east of the bridge and follow it north and then west again to the mouth of the river. There is not much parking so get there early when the fishing is good.[/#0000ff]

Kind of a inside joke. One day we were fishing at the Provo River Inlet and this 12 year old Kid is schooling us on fishing. He shows us how to catch Leeches, and Rock Rollers to use them for bait and how to fish'm. Any ways long story short the kid says we should be fishing Camelot.... He says that is the place to fish. On top of that he can show us how to get there if we just give him a ride home. He had ridden his bike to the Harbor and was just to tired.

Now after this 12 year old totally schools us on fishing he has an attentive audience. For the price of a ride home he is going to show us how to get to this place...

The ensuing 1 hour debacle of this kid telling us where to go and us not being able to drive our truck across empty lots, canals, and through Bob's driveway to reach fishing nirvana... Well... We are all fisherman and we have all searched for both mythical and non-mythical fishing places alike and this one turned out to be a myth for us that day. Long story short the mention of mythical places in search of fish is enough to bend me over laughing hysterically, on top of the name "Camelot" which in itself is a mythical place.

I did not mean to confuse anybody, but it had me rolling for awhile.

Hey carp. That creek I sent you a PM about.Carp are back. I caught a few catfish, some gills and hooked a huge LMB the other day. He broke the line on my nine foot Crappie rod. Go give it a try.

That's great news. Were you fishing close to the highway or further west?
[signature]
If that's the same place I'm thinking of, I caught a foot-long bullhead there last night. Even with all the wind and rain, as soon as things cleared up I put a worm on the bottom, and my last cast of the night paid off :-). That's also where the catfish in my profile pic came from.

Nope. Different creek. Hey carp, further west. Both sides of the road by the trees.

That is (was) a great place to access Mud Lake, but like TD mentioned it is closed to fishing at this time due to the road work. As a matter of fact there is a sign there stating as much. My feeling about it though, is that they will reopen as soon as the road work is completed. they will have to maintain the service road along side those power lines I would imagine? but that's just my hopeful thinking.

So when I get to where the creek comes out from under the west side of the freeway, I turn west and then north again and stop where the creek goes under the road? If I remember correctly there are trees on the west side and no trees on the east. Is that the place?

Youre talking about the creek out of springville where there were trees on the west side of the freeway? That is now the habitant for those silly suckers... they have flooded the field and populated it with suckemuppers.
