Just checked our acount and it looks like the wife and I will also be going after a couple of cow elk as well. Lots of tags for us to try and fill this fall between Utah, WY. and Idaho hunts.

I did not get hit yet but I dont expect to since I got one last year, I cant believe I have almost gone thru both elk I got last sept. wow.. Great news that you drew out, hope you get them this year instead of chasing elk to other people... good luck.. I got a central rifle deer tag...

If you go to the dnr web site they have a report of who drew a tag and who didn't by points and areas. Where I put in all but two people last year drew who had one point. Everyone with more than one point drew as well. It may be worth looking at since you have a couple points now.

The outfitter told us he would like us to hunt the first 5 days in Sept. No rifle hunts have opened yet so they should be in the cool high country and in great shape and haven't been bothered. I have never hunted them this early with a rifle.

Got my Cow tag for Private, chalk creek, this will be two elk tags for me. Finally, my year for tags. One muzzy, one any legal weapon. Need to start cleaning out the freezer and makin some room.
