Hope to not offend anyone with this thread. I'm sure anyone who frequents this board does not do this, but you have to vent somewhere right? I visited Smith and Moorehouse last week. I got skunked but luckily I walked away with 3 full bags of trash from my shore fishing spot. Dirty diapers, beer cans, broken glass, easily 300 yards of discarded fishing line are just a few of my treasures from this trip. I'm a resident of Arizona living here in Utah due to military obligations. Y'all have a beautiful state with very very nice outdoor opportunities. Please do what you can to pack out what you bring in. Also, it doesn't take much to grab some trash that doesn't belong to you. I'm not a ecological warrior but I do know that every piece of trash I pick up leaves a better place for my son to fish when he's older.

[font "Courier New"][#000080][size 3]Unfortunately, this is a common problem. I think once we even had some sort of "party" where a few of the forum members went "fishing" - but the main goal was to have a contest about how many bags of garbage they could get, rather than how many fish! Isn't that pitiful?

I know Utah Lake has some trouble with it in several areas. Willard is usually pretty nice when I go there (but I don't go very often).
The cleanest places I've been are the city parks, but that's because some of them actually hire people to do a regular trash run, or sometimes there's volunteers doing it for community service hours. About the only things I see are cigarette butts, maybe a couple soda bottles. It's still Sad that ANY trash is left.
