My nephew went out last weekend, on June 26, and had terrific success from the shore. He was asked what he caught and said, "the question is, what didn't we catch!?"
I'll have to ask what he was fishing with and how many he caught, but he was really excited about his weekend down there.

I just sent him a text message to find out and he said he was near woodhead and they used everything from bait to plastics and caught bass, crappie, perch and catfish.

I've never been there. I just moved up here from Las Vegas last August and haven't been out and about enough this year.
I hope you do really well, though. Let us know your results. :-)

jowshdaman if you are going to woodhead and are fishing from shore i would highly highly recomend driving and fishing below the dam in oxbow. remember bass regs are different however. fish right at the bridge. also remember you can only fish on the idaho side unless you have a oregon lisc. fish by the bridge for crappie and real good smallmouth. tightline 1/16-1/8 oz chartruce grub for crappie. and carolina rigged finnese worms , tubes ect, cast upstream and bounced off the bottom. also where the wildhorse river comes in there are lunker trout to be cought at times on spinners. i murdered them a few years ago on a plain jane #2 silver mepps. good luck
