Biofisher picked me up at the Bi-Lo up the highway from my house this morning before the roosters started crowing. We even beat the kid to his favorite fishing hole this morning. It was a good thing that we stopped there because every place else that we stopped was terrible. About mid-morning, I remember that it was the 4th of July weekend and that was the reason for so many people out fishing and crusing, and water chiggering, and whatever else they do on holiday.

We found the north wind blowing and that isn't good for fishing. Clear skies and water temps around 83 degrees. My second fish was my 12th of the year though. Look out kid, here I come. emoPoke emoBigSmile Gary and I fished with 1/16 oz jigs and all the fish were deep. At least 20 feet plus. I did hang a big fish which was probably one of my pets as there was no slime on the line after the jig pulled out. It was a 30 to 40 second fight and I couldn't get the fish off the bottom at all. He just swam lazily off like he didn't have a care in the world. emoBigSmile

Bassert pulled up after a short while and we ceded our spot to him. With hind sight always being 20/20, we should have run him off and stayed put, but we are really nice guys who don't care to share a fishing spot. It was a community hole anyway. I don't think that there was anything that we could have said to run Pat off. He was grinning and bragging about a couple of new reels that he had bought. I really like the rods a lot. Can't speak for the reels though. Haven't ever tried them.

We ran upriver to try some new spots that Biofisher had located and although we marked fish and bunches of fish on the graph, they didn't like what we were offering. emoBang It was one of our poor days today. 7 keepers and about that many throwback crappie and 2 white bass and 1 tiny largemouth bass. When it got too hot to sit down on the seats, we decided to quit and go home, get in the shade, and have some iced tea.

We did get to talk to Jessie up at his dock. First time that I have seen him in almost a year. He has been hiding from me. But he spotted Gary with the binoculars and came on down and chatted us up for a bit. It was good seeing him. He was asking if we had the Kid's address or if we knew how to contact Jimbow. He muttered something about a bar tab! emoPoke Just kidding, Kid. Don't panic and leave town. This is it for me until the holidays are over. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
