I feel your pain.
I have had my kicker stolen from my boat.
My son has also had his stolen.
For us, the insurance wasn't a lot of help though.
$250 deductable and they valued my motor at $400.00.
$150.00 doesn't buy you very much motor.

Your post just really ticks me off. I have not had anything in my boat stolen.... yet, but it is something you just have to constantly worry about. The potential for someone to get hurt real bad is always there when some jerk does something like that and runs the risk of getting caught in the act. If I ever caught someone doing that I am afraid I would end up in more trouble than he would. Still, it would be fun to put lumps on some druggies head faster than he could rub them off.
Sorry for your loss and I hope it turns out okay for ya.

Man that stinks. He also has your Social security number. I would watch that for trouble. Ron

I spent a night in jail because I caught somebody vandalizing my boat. The police said I should have called them first instead of taking matters into my own hands (He 'fell' while I was chasing him and damaged his face on the asphalt [

][

]) I would do it again if somebody touched my boat.
I'm sorry about your boat buddy, I strip everything off or out of my boat when I'm done. I have a prop lock, tm lock, coupler lock and still don't feel safe. Lowlife is right.
P.S. No charges were filed on either part but he was suspected of other vandalism and the police took it from there.

That sucks big time. But don't give up all hope. Last year my Sage Launch was stolen from my truck up on the Provo. As far as I was concerned it was gone forever, but it turned up in a Pawn Shop and I got it back early this spring.

Sad news! There's nothing lower than a thief. I got back too late last night to put my boat back in storage, and I live in kind of a rough neighborhood. Long story short, I slept on my porch last night with some thief repellant [

] just in case anyone had any ideas. It's a

world we live in when you can't trust people. I hope you get your stuff back.

Now that really pisses me off. Not to lessen the vile crappy act of the original post , but ---------------, There really needs to be some understanding and justice when a private citizen cathes some "scum bag" in the act. Minor "damage" to the scum bag should be justified and over looked. Not to say that unwarranted "self help" should be tolerated but, well, -------- there's got to be some action that is justified from a private citizen. Too much protection to criminals and scum bags in my opinion.

only the last 4 numbers and my initials i did get a few things back so far that were dropped along the way but it still sucks
thanks for all your comments our adjuster said its been a real bad year for rv,s and boats for theft a big increase this year

That's rough. These lean times are driving a lot of people to desperate stupidity. Heard a news brief the other day about how there are now more FEMALE bank robbers than male - because people are doing whatever it takes to survive... Sad. Sorry you got victimized.
Maybe you should all have crappy-a$$ equipment like mine, so you can sleep better at night?

Your front yard is pretty much fare game these days. They are taking everything, and anything. I've had my Winder Dairy box stolen with milk, bread and cookies in it. ? O.K.? My lunch cooler out of my truck with a phone charger, sunglasses, and some old food in it. I have a German Shepherd Dog that sleeps outside and usually wake me up when someones creepin in the yard, and two cops live on my street with there cars in the driveway. Doesn't matter, people don't care. I chased a guy a few months ago, but all I got was some bare feet full of thorns. I'm waiting for my flower pots, and garden hose to go next.

[font "Courier New"][#0000BF][size 3]This is why I do not keep anything in my car. Every time I get out of my car, I always take everything with me... even garbage (especially fast food bags that have card receipts...yes, only the last 4 numbers show, but if somebody really wanted to be desperate they could find out the rest!)
I don't even leave stuff in the trunk, because all they have to do is pick the lock of my car doors, get to the dashboard and pop the trunk that way.
Even the car itself is not safe! I had my car stolen a few summers ago ("fortunately" the thieves (who I am pretty sure I know who did it, but can't prove) didn't know that my AC didn't work.) The engine blew up from overheating, and the car was abandoned a few blocks down from the house. As it was pointed in the direction of my house, I assume they were trying to return it?
Also, I've heard that car parts, such as the catalytic converter, are targets too.

Man that sux royal! I had trucks busted into, had friends cars cleaned out while staying a hotel in Vegas (so much for all the cameras). Hope your insurance is good to ya, and doesn't use the excuse to jack fees!
I've worried about the crap in my boat sitting around. And most is crap - but heck - a battery alone can be worth a hundred bux!
It's one thing to find a lure stuck in a bush, or snagged on a rock, but quite another to "clean out" someone's rig! I grew up in Chicago - and on the southside - if you don't lock it, you lose it. Utah is generally so 'safe' - it's part of what gives the criminals the upper hand - boldness gets them away with it.
We can all help - if you EVER see something suspicious - call them out! Say "hey - can I help you?" Even if you don't know the guy or the guy's rig - claim - that's my buddy's rig there - do you have a question? Then explain that your buddy is the size of Shaq - loves to hunt and fish, wears camo, sports loads of tattoos, and is packin heat at ALL times!!!! Maybe then they'll back off!!!
I feel for ya. I've "left gear" one place or another - returning (of course) to find it gone. Gnaws at your gut!
Good luck with the insurance!!
That sucks bro!!!!
May be a little late, but words to live by. Park the boat at the doc, leave a dog.
Park the boat at the house, leave a couple dogs.
Buy a couple of guns and hope and pray you never need to use them! Hope for the best but prepare for the worst!!! Hope it all works out.

Great visual! Not sure how effective with my Wiener dog, but he is mean and hates strangers...LOL
Interesting, I was in I.F. last weekend and while walking my dog through the neighborhood, I noticed, parked out on the street, a real nice flat bed trailer, one camping trailer, another small flat bead and one with a Jet Ski on it...not a single lock on any of them?!
Yet ,as you all, we have a Rinker with total cover parked in our driveway, by the house, to find one morning, the cover undone on one corner and a fishing pole gone and the knobs and such from the radio laying on the floor. Wished they had gotten that piece of crap stock radio...LOL
Got to love the big city! Where are all the honest. church going people...[

BUMMER DUDE! I'm always on alert of people poking around things of where they look out of place. I carry a camera in my trunk too.
Wish the best for you. Hope they get the dogs. Its a good wakeup call for the rest of us.

The law is getting mixed up! You shouldn't have had to do time for his crime. The governments of the USA are getting to much power. They are there to protect us not the criminal. LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE THE PROBLEM IF THE LAW IS GOING TO BACK FIRE. I hope I never have the problem of some one vandalizing or steeling from me cause I don't really want to go to jail!!!!!!!!
[signature]
I feel for you man, it's my belief that there's a special place in hell for thieves. Because the emotional and financial pain they cause is deep. Heaven forbid that law enforcement protect a thief more then the victim (within reason). I've also left things behind only to return with them gone. My first mountain bike was stolen from the garage in broad daylight and I had a few cherished childhood items disappear soon after a so called "friend" had come over to play. I think my brother's had it worse though. He had his wallet and camera stolen and a backpack full of electronics (laptop, pda, sd cards, etc). By the way never leave your backpack in those cubby things they have at university book stores. That's where the backpack was stolen (and he only went in there for about 5 minutes!!!). Just remember that the heat not only brings out more insect pests, it also brings out the human kind too. Lock it up, keep it safe, and always be on the lookout for suspicious behavior (you just might save someone else a lot of pain and heartache).
