I'm heading up around 2:30 in the morning. With any luck I will have a decent report first of the week.

Also if the indications are good in respect to the run up north and with the info I heard from up there, it should be an excellent run at least to Ellis. This is a picture in memorial above orifino.

Nice Fish Tech. I'm interested in the upper Salmon as well. With CFS at 7800 + I think I'll hold on a couple more weeks. I'll only go up once so I need to try and time it as close as I can. Any info would be much appreciated.[Wink]

I have been hitting it daily. Nothing , but the water is coming down and starting to clear up. Should get good any time now. I'll be going tomorrow in the evening after work if the weather holds. I am dying to land my first salmon on the Salmon river. I have always fished the Clearwater for salmon in the past, but now that I live in Salmon I no longer need to travel. Will hopefully have some pics in a day or two.

You need to wait a week or two. The river is still really high and the water is still pretty murkey. I ended up only staying for saturday, but we did manage to get one at 31". I will post a picture in a little bit. As of being checked around 1:00 saturday afternoon, we seemed to be the first ones to actually have landed a fish. They are there, but you need to get your bait right in front of them to have a chance.

Thanks Tech. I looks like the river is coming down fast, that's good. Heard today the Yankee Fork is dropping 6" a day so that's a positive. Hopefully in two weeks they will be there in greater numbers and the water will be running no higher than 2500 CFS. Thanks for the info guy's. BTW has anyone seen the Campsite across from the Ellis post office? Is it still there?

It's still there. Earlier they brought in several loads of rock and put it by the bridge abutment so the bridge didn't wash away. A few more feet of dirt bank was lost and the campground got skinnier again. It was pretty well water covered last week but since the river dropped it has dried up good. I saw fresh tire tracks going thru it yesterday and they didn't sink.

Driftin' roe on that one!

Still pretty slow. Fished 8 solid hours yesterday and did hook one salmon, but lost it right at the net. Water is still pretty high, but the clarity is getting much better and quite fishable. This next week should be the one to see them start turning on quite well.

300+ fish back to the Passim hatchery. It should get good pretty quick. Waters looked like it was still a little high when we came through Mon afternoon. Only 2 guys fishing at ellis. Didnt see anyone else until almost to salmon.

418 fish to the Pahsimeroi Hatchery as of today, and they were counting more. Water clarity is good, but the level is still quite high. Four of us fished for six hours today and didnt touch a fish. Saw one hook up, and one jack landed, all around Ellis. Fish and Game said it was slow in the Ellis area, and didn't have a report yet from the Salmon area. All of this info is as of 7-19-11. Good luck if you get out.

Headed up friday afternoon for the weekend. Should be enough fish in there to hook a few. Going to be the last trip of the year so might as well. Glad that the lower river actually turned out thought it was going to be bust but heck happy people got to spank them real good!!!![cool] Taking the girlfriend up for her first trip so hopefully she can hook into a few. Fish gods dont let me down!!! She went on 2 steelhead trips this spring in the wonderful snowin and blowin weather with zero fish so gotta redeem myself or this might be the last time for her... lol
