Fished the backwaters today. Took all day 9-3 to land 1 - 10" bass, 4 - 9" perch, 1 - 15" eye a 17" & a 17 1/2" eye, the biggest finally bing on my fly rod[cool][Smile][laugh][sly]. The rest were on a worm harness. [cool]

Had a good day and never got my line in my trolling motor, major accomplishment[Wink]

May have found the problem wiht the merc. Found a hose loose from the carb to the motor. So not opening the vent and this loose hose could be my problem. We'll see[angelic]

Sorry not having any pic's I will work on that[crazy]

Good job. The fishing down there has been great. Ron

Say Ron, Have you driven into China Creek? I was wondering how the road is and if I could unload my boat there.

The road into china is ROUGH. The main road is very washboarded and huge holes at the cattle guards. In one spot someone got stuck in the middle of the road and now traffic goes around it. The only place to launch is in the middle of the road. It is very shallow like maybe 3 to 4 inches for a long way. I had to drag my pontoon a lot farther than I like. As the water level drops and it is the road is going to get real soft. I am sure someone will get stuck.
I don't know how much water you need to launch but I don't think a regular boat can do it there yet. Ron

Michael,
If you don't mind me asking, what fly pattern did you catch the walleye on? Also, what type of fly line were you using and what sort of depth? Thanks!

Thanks Ron,
I drove into both Norton and Grey's on the way home. Norton was real rough and rutty and then very limited area to put in as well a you will get stuck[cool] and Greys the will be the same but for now you park up by the out house and with everyone there you can't turn around so you need to back down the road from the outhouse parking area. I love a challenge[cool]

So boat wise it's Backwaters for now or the main dock.

Don't mind at all[cool]
Chartreus is the color now, so while at Sportsman's I picked up a wooly bugger with a bead head and sparkle as well a black wolly with sparkle. Cool if you tie your own.

Also another main key is on THE BOTTOM, so since I believe all my full sink line is around level 3 and I don't like to count (puts me to sleep[crazy]) and split shot just hangs up, so I got some new full sink both 4 & 7 and was using the 7 with a 7" 14# leader (there are just too many snags and branches on the bottom for lighter leader[frown])

I found mine at 12fow and the surface temp was 70- 73 °.
