Dr Phillip and I made a 30 minute run upriver this morning in search of crappie. We did good. Total 38 keepers landed with only 2 short fish today. I wanted to keep 4 for supper tonight and Phil wanted to keep 10 for supper for his family tonight. Our first stop was at the off shore structure that we have been fishing lately. The bite was very slow for a while and I expected it to be slow as the feeding period was between 9:27 and 11:27 this AM.

Dr Phillip caught his 4th and 5th TARP crappies this morning. All I could manage was several over 13". We took pics of his first one and he measured the 2nd one and tossed it back in the lake before I could pick up my camera. I told him that we take pics of all TARPs. He apologized and kept fishing. emoBig We saw Nautic man (Pete) up there. He came by to say hello and after chatting us up for a few minutes, he went on in his pursuit of bass. We got our supper fish just about the time that the fish were turning on and I told Phil that I wanted to go fish a dock. He looked at me like I was crazy and said 'you want to leave fish biting to go find fish?" But he allowed me to pick up our markers and go look in another place.

When we got to this dock, we hit the mother lode again. After catching about his 6th or 7th fish in a row, Phil said, now I see why you wanted to move. We caught about 20 keepers on that dock and left them biting to look at one more structure that I saw on the map the other day with Bassert and didn't fish.

That meant a 15 minute run back downriver and located this spot. By this time, the morning movement was just about over. It was getting hot and the wind picked up and made off shore fishing tough, but while easing over this spot that I had marked, we saw a huge school of crappie and I tossed the marker. We landed 2 more fish and lost another one about 1/2 back to the boat. We had about 7 bites, but not that many hookups there and decided to quit for the morning. Too hot to sit in the boat seats, so we turned the air conditioner on the boat and headed back to Tyner Lane ramp. Another great day of memories.

We praised and thanked the Lord just about the whole time that we were out there on the water. God is good all the time. emoBig emoGeezer
