I'll be coming up to Idaho (yes, from Utah - start slapping me NOW!) to deliver/retrieve my kids from camp again this summer - first week of August.

Had a great time last year - lots of fishing/hiking ventures. The area around Stanley/Sawtooths is absolutely gorgeous - met rainbows, squaw, cuts, brookies - and of course the infamous Bull Trout.
Got a bit beat up over posting Bulls lifted "out of the water", but after review, and updates direct from the DNR - I think this year's regulations have clarified things a bit. Hopefully!

I've been taught a lot about "proper drag" by the spring cats down my way, and hope to test out my 'learnings". I'd also really like to give the fairy-want a good shake this time around. Maybe down on the Snake?
Any good catfishn spots around that area?

Anyway - looking forward to enjoying some time in Idaho and if anyone's going to be in the area - would love to say 'hey-dee' or get together and pitch a line. I will plan on submitting a proper 'fishing' post after the venture.
Nice pics! I did that Fishhook hike last week... so beautiful. A few weeks ago Alturas was pretty unfishable because the lake was so high. I imagine it has started to settle now but it's been a long spring this year. August should be prime for those bull trout. Good luck!
