Cave Falls Rd East. Turn left (North) on Schaefer Cr Rd/ FR 470 or you can travel further east and turn left on FR 246. If you reach YNP you went too far. It's pretty but last time I was there (probable 7 yrs or more) it had been overtaken by stunted brookies. Was lucky if one out of 50 was a foot long. That's why I haven't been back

sounds like a perfect place to catch a pan full of brookies then, was up there the other day and wondered about that creek.

thank you!!!!! i will be sure to give a report afterwards.

I just notice a typo in my reply and corrected it. Both turns are lefts (head northerly).
It certainly was nonstop catching. It's just that the average fish was probable a skinny 6 inches when I last went.

Just one word of caution - MOSQUITOES!!! Plan ahead.

sorry it took me a few days to get a report up. First i want to say thank you for the mosqito warning. MUCH APPRECIATED. the fishing was pretty sweet. i got somewhere around a dozen brown trout and one brookie all on patriotsand my buddy got about the same amount mostly rainbow on a patriot. overall the fish were nice and fat for their size and a beautiful creek to fish.

Did you catch them as far upstream as I gave directions to? If so it's nice to know the brookies aren't still totally overrunning the place as several years ago. It is a pretty place to fish and easy to wade up stream and get away from anybody.

we went to a dead end past the girls camp and fished upstream from that didnt only got 3 there so went went farther downstream to a bridge not quite sure what it was as we were coming back from the girls camp from the dirt road it was the first road you could turn right on once you hit pavement heading towards ashton

Every year our family goes up to horseshoe lake for a week of fishing and camping. There is a trail that goes down to robinson creek just north of the lake. for years we did not know about this trail and when we geared up to go down, it was a all day trip. bushwacking down canyon walls to go fish it. even then it was worth it, with a 2 hour bushwack one way. since i found the trail, it turned into a 20 minute hike down a trail. i absolutely love to fish this creek. it makes you feel like your the only one around for 100 miles. The fish are for the most part 6 in brookies, but every once in a while a 16 to 18 in rainbow comes flying out of the water for your fly. This is one of my favorite creeks to fish. Your surrounded by the most amazing landscape and there is plenty of time to think about life as time seems to stand still. While im up there camping, i jump on the four wheeler and go down to sheep falls on the fall river. just upstream to the falls is always really good fishing. This sheep falls is not very well known. Everyone i talk to get it

with the sheep falls on the henrys fork, but this is also a must to fish while up in the area. just a few miles past horseshoe lake turnoff and a few miles before you get tot yellowstone. Don't try to take a nice truck down there. four wheeler or horse back is by far the better choice.
