I just got back from my trip to Owyhee Res. Fishing was amazing. We got hundreds of crappie and only a few bass. In fact I got my biggest bass there. We had “magic” lures, well that is what some people thought. One guy bought the plug I had on my pole and it was broken. My son was using a spinner bait and he even got a cat on it. It was the best day fishing for crappie I have ever had. And I got to do it with my son and my Uncle Jim. I think he did amazing for 88 years old, he even ran the boat. After we got back to Nampa Jacob and I went down on the river to spend the night and do some shore cattin. Well we had front row seats to a STORM!!!
We fished for a couple hours and went to bed at 1:00am. We got up at 5:00am and I got a nice cat. Catfishing there was slow to say the least. The high water had weeds moving down river and it was tough to get the bait to sit still. I broke out the light sturgeon gear and got the one cat I got. Anyway it was a great trip. Ron

That lightning bolt looks like the one that woke me up in the middle of the night. It sounded like it came down right next to our house.

The fish were in 15 to 30 feet of water. I put on one split shot above the plug. Ron

Phil, I bet that was DANG close to your house. My Uncle lives on Lone star and they said it was a bad storm. We didn't even have a rain drop. Ron

Ron A couple more question if you wouldn't mine. What end of the res. Were you fishing, the damn or leslie gulch. Any other info would help. I live in parma and trying to learn how to fish the area around here, just move here so learning on the go.
