Slow weekend but it was still a blast. Also thanks for those who PMed me.

Left Friday night and got up there about 7. No time to fish so we set up camp. We did run over to the Marina store to see about a fishing license for the wife. I was surprised when she was handed a card with a blank line and a phone number. He said call the number and pay for a license then just use the confirmation number till you get the actual license in the mail. That was a new way of doing things for me. None the less worked just fine.

Once we got camp set up I started working on getting the boat ready for morning. Come to find out I forgot the wing nuts to connect the electric motor to the battery. DOH! Well my wife would rather bass fish then troll so 4:30 wake up call for me and a run over to Walmart in Park City. Found some nuts that would work luckily and was back by 6. Hooked up to the boat and was on the water by 6:30.

Fished in that bay just north of the ramp with little success. So we decided to head up to the Dam. Motor up there using the new 4 hp I got on KSL. Sure is a lot better than using that electric motor. Fished the damn for about an hour before we caught anything and by then the power squadron was out in full force so we called it quits. we were off the water by 10:30.

Spent the rest of the day relaxing back at camp making some more modifications to the boat. Unfortunately the wife didn't want to go back out that night so I went out by myself for a bit. Decided to troll till the power squadron decided to get off. Ended up just trolling the whole time. Hooked into 4 nice bows by the damn. Lots of people trolling it which made it hard to fish between them and the inconsiderate power boats racing by constantly. It was still a blast to catch fish and watch others wonder how I was doing it. Spent from 6-8 that night on the water. Overall had a blast.

Went out again by my self in the morning. This almost turned into a disaster as I launched the boat and left it tied to the ramp while I parked the truck. When I got back to the boat I realized I forgot to put the plug in as I stared at the 6 inches of water in the back of the boat. Luckily there were a couple good samaritans that helped me pull the boat out to drain it and then put it back in. If either of them read this thank you again!

I decided to troll after I finally got back out on the water. Caught 3 more bows trolling the east bank south of the ramp. Decided after an hour and a half of trolling to try for some more bass with no luck. Came back in at 9 as the power squadron was again starting to get on the lake.

I haven't been camping in a couple years. It sure was nice to camp a little and fish a little over the weekend. Can't wait to go again. Attaching some pictures for your enjoyment. Also for those who are still wondering, the lake is FULL!!!!!!!!!! Might be a good year for the perch which would make a good ice fishing year up there.

Where did you camp? I'm going to be working a few miles down the road for the next couple months. Is there a good cheap place to park a camp trailer or just a nice spot to pitch a tent?

Every boater has to forget the plug at least once. I think it is a law. I did mine in Lucerne marina at the gorge.
I am glad it didn't turn out to bad for you.

We camped in a tent at the Twin Coves campground. It was 10 bucks a night. If you look online at reserveamerica.com you can see the campgrounds and prices and even reserve some of them. Make sure you look at the amenities if your gonna be there awhile I think they have sites with electricity. When you do get your line wet from shore I suggest the west bank along the north end. Not just next to the dam but along the whole north end of the west bank. Good luck!

You can never have a perfect trip. Something always has to go wrong. I just call it part of fishing. Although it is a rush when you notice your boat is taking water and trying to find the bottom of the lake. It may have been the first time I forgot the plug but I don't think it will be the last.
