Can I take a boat on Lake Lowell after dark? I know there seems to be some funky regs on that lake, I didn't see any but thought I should ask before I try to catch some cats there in the dark.

Any tips on where to find the cats? I got punched in the throat last weekend by the wind at Brownlee and was wanting to take a guy night fishing for some cats, but didn't want to tow the boat up there just to fish for a few hours. I was also kicking around the idea of Walter's and Swan. I was thinking Lake Lowell might be a nice change of scenery though.

Thanks!

Hows Swan falls? Close to Lowell I here. The Snake will always treat you right. Cats prowl at night. I am upset Kuna Caves are no longer. [mad]

Boat ramps on Lake Lowell close at dark. The Lower Dam access (Caldwell end) has an automatic gate that locks and doesn't open again until 6 AM (unless you call an emergency number).

i camped at brownlee last fri night and yes the wind howled all night and even rained on us. unless you can carry a canoe/float tube they keep boats off the water at night and/or at least close the ramps

Thanks for the heads up about the gate. Will probably just head up to Steck.

I was there last Friday night too. Rain, thunder, wind... we launched Saturday after the rain storm around 6pm. I knew better, but did it anyways. Headed down towards the rock in the river. Came back right at dusk after nervously waiting for the wind to die down. Won't make that mistake again. [crazy]
