irst of all I am normaly against posting creek reports with the creeks being named. That being said Birch Creek is a family fishing water, heavily stocked and I don't see it being fished out anytime soon.
I have been a couple of different times in the last week. The first time I took my nephew to work on his flyfishing merit badge and the second time I took one of my sons to work on his flyfishing skills.
Both trips were a huge success. The brookies and rainbows were taking most anything with a drag free float.
The best fly was the royal wolf, small cricket patterns were also good. The renegade didn't work as well this time. Overall we fcaught a ton of fish and I would recommend this as a place for the beginning dry fly fisherman to practice.
