I am going fishing tomorrow, and I'm looking for a good place to go where I can catch something other than trout. I have been to Utah Lake quite a few times and caught a lot of white bass, and a few catfish but other then that it seems like I can only find trout. Any ideas?

I am from Orem, and I don't have access to a boat or tube so it would have to be from the bank.

I would go to Deer Creek since it's close. Take the walking path by the dam that gets you over to the northwest side of the lake. Anywhere there are trees, walk down and flip a little twister tail or piece of nightcrawler (I prefer Carolina rigging it). You can catch all the tiny smallmouth you want. I suppose the same would apply for the whole lake. That's just where I've got into them from a boat. Good luck.

PM sent. I'd be interesting in going with you first thing in the morning if you'd like the company. I'm in the same boat, meaning no boat, no float tube and bored with recently stocked trout.
