Next time you catch a carp, hold onto it and ring the dinner bell!
You'll need:
1 Carp
1 Damp pine or cedar plank
1 whole chopped onion
2 Tsp Fresh Garlic
1 Sprig of fresh Sage and Basil
1 tbsp Garlic Salt, fresh black pepper
1.) Take your carp, clean, and let rest open side down on the pine or cedar plank in your fridge for at least 12 hours.
2.) Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl with a tablespoon of olive or vegetable oil. After 12 hours, fill the carp with your combined ingredients, cover carp and plank with foil and let cook in a conventional oven for 1 hour at 300 degrees F.
3.) Once plank's edges have browned, remove from oven and let cool.
4.) When plank is cool to touch, throw away carp and filling and eat the plank with a wedge of lemon.
ENJOY!

this one is a must try also lol thank Erawk for the recipe
My Carp were prepared according to an old family recipe passed down to me by my dearly departed Uncle.
Ingredients:
Whole fresh Carp, gutted
Beach Sand
2 lengths of 2" x 4" per fish (as long or slightly shorter than fish)
Coat-hanger or Wire
Half a cigarette
Salt & Pepper
Preparation
After gutting the carp, lay them in beach sand on each side and get a good coating. This is to reduce slime. Then take a lit cigarrette and place it in the fishes mouth. This is to impart a smoky flavor and to remind the fish one last time of lazy days eating cig butts at the marina.
You then take each carp and place it between two lengths of 2" x 4", wrapping them with the hanger or wire to secure the wood pieces to the carp. You then place each prepared carp into or over your fire pit or bbq. Allow at least 30 minutes of cooking time. Use a splash of water to keep the flames from completely burning the 2x4's. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. After the 30 to 45 minutes of cooking has elapsed start checking the fish to see if the flesh has become firm. Once you are confident that the fish is fully cooked, remove them from the heat/fire.
Serving:
Gently unwrap the wire from the wood/fish and discard the wire. You then take each piece of wood and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Throw the Carp back on the beach and then eat the 2x4's.
DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Carp tacos
[left]
1 pound ground carp
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 package taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
Sliced tomato (or salsa)
12 flour tortillas
Shredded lettuce
Grated cheddar cheese
Taco sauce
Sour cream
[left]
[left]
Before shredding the fish, remove mud vein, or redish-brown section of meat. Cook the shredded fish in the oil until its color changes. Add the taco seasoning and water. Cook until nearly dry, stirring occasionally. Heat flour tortillas in a dry fry-pan, turning to lightly brown on both sides. They should still be soft and pliable when warm. Fill each tortilla with fish mixture. Add grated cheese, taco sauce, lettuce, tomato chunks (or salsa) and top with sour cream.

that actually sounds good 4pound. just gotta get past the whole "CARP" part. still you never know till one tries it. i have been wanting to try carp for some time now. my son (he's 14) really wants to try it. so maybe the next sizable carp we harvest will become ceviche tacos [cool]

Bwah hahahahahahahahah.
Where did you learn this recipe, iHunt? I know I didn't make it up myself, so I'm curious who passed this gem on to you. [

You've made a lot of good contributions to the board lately, kudos. We'll have to add this one to the list [fishon]
Damn, I need to go fishing so bad.

I can imagine inviting friends over for some fish tacos and tequila. Playing up the presentation and going full bore with the spread.... All sorts of condiments: fresh chopped cilantro, onions, tomatoes, roasted peppers, jalapenos, etc. They'd be the best tacos our friends ever ate.
After everyone is happy and full of tacos (AND 2KILLLYA), the conversation will gravitate towards what made dinner so, so good. At this point you reveal the night's secret ingredient ALA<<<IRON CHEF>>>
And then Ralph will join the party =)
GREAT RECIPES!
