I fished the south fork of the snake river near Heise from 6am to 9am this morning. I caught 4 fish using rapalas and Kastmasters. None of the fish caught had much size to them. Last year at the same time of year I caught alot more. This year sure has been rough water conditions for the southfork thus far!
I think a couple more days of steady flows will get the fish going. Looked like 100 drift boats were putting in a the South Fork lodge today.

Fished the same area on saturday with nymphs and did pretty good but the water was still pretty powerful and a little scary for me to wade. Ended up catching 2 browns right at 18" as the biggest on brown rubber legs
Best part of the day was watching a cow moose try to swim across the river with her calf. The calf was swept away into a big fallen tree and the cow had to go back in into the water and push her calf out. pretty amazing to watch.
