So I just went on some guided trips and fly fished for the first time. I fished South Fork in Swan Valley the first day, and then Byington to Lorenzo the second. Now I'm kinda hooked but I don't have the resources to go on guided trips or float. I was wondering if there is some good spots to wade near Rexburg seeing as that is where I live. I went to funny farm without any success and it was hard to wade too much there. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Beaverdick area any good?
I'd take any suggestions, just trying to learn. Thanks

welcome to the forum! plenty of places to fish on the henry's fork by rexburg fun farm right at the bridge can be hit or miss i like to go up the river from there a mile or 2 and wade out and fish back into the bank. also up by vernon bridge by the boat ramp is excellent fishing and pretty safe wading.

The big rivers are just starting to drop and becoming fishable/wadeable. If you are brand new to flyfishing I would start with some family fishing waters to build up your confidence and then work to the bigger rivers.
The area by the takeout on the Henrys Fork by Ashton can be a good learning area, as well as warm river.
I would look at the streams in the area as well.
The beaver dick area is usually not a great flyfishing area as it doesn't get regular hatches and is silted in at times.
The fun farm can be great or fickle depending on the conditions. It usually requires long light leaders and long casts.
Keep asking questions and we will see what we can do to help. You can also ask specific fly fishing questions on BFT fly fishing board.

You are in a fantastic area, explore the henry's fork all the way up to henry's lake. It is by far my personal favorite.
I would start at saint anthony and explore north.
