I could use some advice on Island Park Res. fishing techniques. Planning on dodgers and squids but could use any input as to trolling speeds and options.
Henry's Lake for a day as well but don't want to jig and wondering if it's just needle fish and triple teasers as well?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to BFT. I am moving your post to the Idaho forum, so that you can get the most current information from those who fish Island Park Reservoir.

Thanks for the move?

panther martins and silver and red spoons always worked really well for me there. i and my dad always had two pole lisenses so one of each would go on the divers and the other two just were they ran and then we would start experimenting with depth. rapalas do well to

Caught 6 Coho and 14 Kok's at Island Park. It was a slow bite but we had a great time. The boat impeller went out so we spent the last day in Box Canyon fly fishing.
Will add a picture if phone recovers from the river incident..
Slow troll at 1.8 mph, with lead line (4 colors) and a dodger.

Thanks for the report. I didn't know there were Coho in there.

I didn't as well. I assumed they were all kok's until we went to shore and numerous "Locals" insisted that some were coho. Red, hooked jawed and all males, bright red to pink.
Land locked? Still researching info on them.

I salvaged a few Pic's. Coho or Kokanee? Either way, we had a great time.

Definitely kokanee. I'd bet the farm on it. (OK, I live in the city). Mike

Nice fish. Those are all Kokanee. Once they hit three years of age they turn red in preparation for the spawn. There are some real monster kokes in Island Park Res!
Very nice Kokanee.
Windriver
...they certainly dont look anything like the ones we pull from the ice up at Rire...last year at about this time, I was fly fishing up at coffee pot campground and had one of those guys jump right next to me..kinda caught me off guard..it was in it red color...very cool...I would love to catch one with my fly rod that was in its spawning colors.
