[cool]Went to Big Bear,Ca. for a long weekend with the wife, dog and my fishing buddy. Saw a great "Chicago" tribute band on friday night at Lake Arrowhead after setting up camp Then went to the awesome car show held in the village section of Big Bear saturday. Backup to Arrowhead for another concert saturday night for a great band called Venice. Nice three hour concert. Up at 5am sunday to fish Big Bear lake with my fishing buddy Dale(sealfish). Alittle slow at first then hit a small stocked trout by the dam. Then Dale hooks up with a nice 1lb10oz trout on the fly. Then soon came another small trout.Take a beer break and cast from shore to nice weed beds for bass. Only one small lmb on the beetlespin. Troll flies back towards the dam and get into a school of crappie. Multiple passes and fish on most drifts. Started kicking kicking back to our launch area and I get another small trout on th fly. Launch again in a shallow and weedy bay to try for more fish. Trolling in the channels in the weeds I get three more crappie on the fly and Dale gets one. Back to camp at 5pm for steak. Dale goes back to work monday and we take a long hike past the campground. Back to town tuesday.

Who caught that HO trout? Yea that's right you got the crappy (or is it crappie?) title but I got pink meat!

Great shot of the Tucker dog, I think you guys have something going on that dog is totally in to you.

Great time I need to come back your way, I think my brakes are squeaking[Wink].

I was at Lake Arrowhead Monday-Wednesday for my 25th wedding anniversary. So no fishing for me, the wife doesn't fish and we had other plans.

I stopped off at Big Bear Lake Wednesday on the way home and saw the fishing docks at Boulder Bay. Asked some anglers what was in the lake. they said rainbows, browns and white crappie. I didn't see anyone catch anything for the short time I was there.

No browns for the most part in BBL, I guess it's possible but in the many years I've fished it I've never seen one. The rainbows have a very good holdover population and those holdovers have beautiful red meat, there were stockings of silver salmon years ago that you can still pick off occasionally or hybrids of them.

There is also a good population of smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and of course catfish, bluegill etc.....

Gets more fun when the crowds die down like most lakes, excellent fly fishing lake they love dark colored fly's.
