This year I did the toxaway/Alice loop out of Pettit lake. I had som concerns with the fitness level of some of the particapants and the trip has shortend from 8 days to 4 days so I thought we sould be able to do it with several day hikes. I was wrong. The fisrt day we made it a little over half way to Toxaway. The brookies in the creek he camped at liked a bee fly. Next day made it to Toxaway, it is full of little brookies. That day they took anything under the surface. Amazing eating. Day three one member hurt his knee so half of us ran over the hill to Edna And Vernon. High light of the trip, ther are some real hogs in Edna and Vernon is not to shabby either. I think the biggest was about 20 inches that we caught but saw much bigger. Day four instead of finishing the loop come down to Yellow belly and sent runners over the hill to get the veicle due to the injured knee.
