Water is beautiful, really clear. I could see cutts rising for bugs no problem. The problem - I didn't catch a thing. They didn't want crankbaits, spinners or spoons, and couldn't tempt them with a worm either. Got one strike on a fly and bobber. I had a couple strikes on mepps aglias, but it was one-off and I couldn't get them to try and hit a second time on anything. Seems like flies are the way to go right now, and I didn't bring my fly gear with me.

Saw a lot of folks out in drift boats, and a handful of hookups. Almost successfully ran Dick Cheney's Lexus off the road when it was being shuttled to the Fullmer launch...decided that as much as I hate politicians the innocent entrepreneur inside deserved to stay on the road [Wink]. Overall it was a great weekend for camping / swimming, but it just wasn't any good for catching.

We fished it last night and man what a difference a couple of days and a ton of people on a river will do to the fishing. Same conditions, hatch was a little lighter but the fish were much more selective. I felt like i was on the north fork again. Still yanked in some pretty fish, started out with a 20 in brown I saw flash in the riffles a few times before I went after him. Prob only pulled in 20 or so for the night. Lots of fish looking then rolling away at the last sec. Ended up going to the dark side right before dark and tied a bead head flash back dropper on and tied up 3 fish in a run all over 16 inches to finish the night.

Fish were much more line/people wary. Ended up having to go out to a 12 foot leader and down to 6x for awhile.
Sloppy slap and slurp casts will put working fish down in a hurry right now.
