So I was on Cabelas website and saw a Creek Company Sport LT Pontoon Boat on sale for $199.99. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Creek-Com...l+Products

Would this be any good for a beginner? I plan on using it on the Salmon river in and around Salmon. Any info or tips would be great before I decide on what to do.

Thanks in advance

The cons to this particular pontoon is the over sized rockers are meant for light floats on rivers. Because of the large up sweeps at each end puts very little boat on the water, meaning it can not handle as much weight as then pontoons with small rockers.

Also, very hard to put a motor on if you eventually want to, or a lot of weight on the back as you have to find the center of gravity to be level and again, with the small foot print due to the over sized rockers is very hard.
Idaho Ron has been through this.

I personally do not like the nylon outer cover. They can be easily ripped. Think of it like a hot dog, that out cover rips, even if the bladder doesn't, you are in trouble.

The metal frame is very heavy, the no padded molded plastic seat will be brutal.

MYSELF, I would save the $200 more and get the boat next to it on the right of the add,
You get what you pay for when it comes to pontoons, but that is my opinion.
